I'll trust that you're reading this because you've been checking out my new blog about Essential Oils and you're curious. Maybe you've thought about using Essential Oils for yourself or your family, but you just weren't sure how they work or what they do. I'm brand new on this journey, which is perfect because you can watch me discover all of the great things I'm learning with my Essential Oils.
This is just a quick post because I promised myself I'd be in bed by 11 and it's already 11:05. I don't know how that happens to me all the time...
Anyway, yesterday I was dealing with a pretty severe earache. I don't get earaches often and I think it's safe to say that it's actually been years since I had any kind of ear pain. Still, there it was. It was nagging at me and my first thought was, "Great. Now I'm going to have to take time off and go to the doctor for an antibiotic." See? I've always just been so programmed to run to the doctor to get fixed up. I don't want to have to take antibiotics all the time, and I don't want to spend time driving to the doctor either. Essential Oils offered me a solution.
Instead of calling the doctor, I decided to do a search on what Essential Oils might be able to help an earache. I was given a few different options, so I decided to choose one and give it a try. The information I found cautioned me never to put Essential Oils directly in my ear, so I took note of that. Instead, I used Purification Essential Oil and I placed two drops on a cotton ball. I swabbed the entire back of my ear, my earlobe and the area around the opening to my ear. That's it.
About an hour later, I checked it and it felt better so I did another application. An hour after that the pain was just about gone. For good measure I did another application and didn't think about it again until I went to bed. When I laid my head down on my pillow on that side, I realized it didn't hurt anymore. Today? No pain whatsoever.
Now, I could have gone to the doctor, paid my co-pay and waited to be seen for this problem. That would have taken approximately two hours out of my day, so the entire appointment would have cost me about $100 (including time off from work). That's not counting the medications they would have prescribed for me. That might have been another ten dollars. Instead? I used a few drops of Essential Oil and fixed the problem myself.
These oils are a terrific solution to just about any problem. I'm really excited to be able to share this with you.
